Marketing Manager, Persil/Dirt is Good

Karen started her career at Unilever 18 years ago in South Africa, where she worked on large local Food brands before moving onto the Knorr account. In this role, she led the African roll out of a new global mission to inspire everyone to eat better for themselves and the planet, partnering with the WWF and local food experts to encourage people to eat more locally relevant plant-based alternatives.

4 years ago, she moved to the UK, and has led the Persil (Dirt Is Good) brand since then. Partnering with Global Action Plan and Future Foundations, we have delivered a schools programme to over 1 200 schools across the UK, with more than 14 000 young people taking action as a direct result. Persil also believes in making a positive contribution through our products and campaigns, and in 2021 won a WARC Gold award for Global Marketing Effectiveness through our brand relaunch.
