John Sage
Head of Corporate Responsibility, Tideway
John is Head of Corporate Responsibility for Tideway, the company financing and delivering London’s ‘Super Sewer’, a 25km-long tunnel and a major piece of essential infrastructure for the UK capital which will clean up the River Thames for future generations. He is responsible for overseeing the project’s delivery of a wider legacy for London as well as the team directly running its community investment, education, volunteering and charitable giving programmes. He has significant experience of community partnerships and in companies delivering social value and is a member of Business In The Community’s London Leadership Board. John started his career as a journalist, working in newspapers before becoming Editorial Director of Teletext on ITV and Channel 4, the interactive TV service, for 10 years and then changing tack into the world of responsible business. He is a Trustee at London Youth Rowing, a youth engagement charity.
John has been on the Global Good Awards Judging Panel since 2021, following Tideway’s Company of the Year win in 2020.
